8 months today! Two more months to go, I can't wait!!! This week my baby is the size of a 5 pound bag of potatoes. This week, your baby starts to shed that downy protective hair, called lanugo, though there may be some fuzzy remnants on her shoulders and back after she's born. With the exception of baby's still-developing lungs, all other major organs have completely formed -- which is great news if your baby happens to arrive early. In fact, almost all babies born at this stage or later survive and go on to have healthy, normal lives.
